Cost Effective, Energy Efficient
The 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, or Stimulus Bill, is offering tax credits for improving your home's energy efficiency. The tax credit for qualified energy efficient improvements on existing homes, like replacement windows and metal roofing, has increased to 30 percent the cost up to $1,500 for 2009 and 2010. Additionally, the federal government is offering tax credits for new and existing home at 30 percent the cost with no upper limit for improvements such as solar panels and solar water heaters, through 2016. How to Claim Your Tax Credit
- Purchase qualifying energy efficient home improvement products from Lindus Construction
- Save your receipt and the NFRC/Energy Star label with you tax documents
- Have your replacement windows or metal roofing system installed before Dec. 31, 2010
- When filling your 2009 or 2010 taxes, claim the tax credit on your federal form
