Our team answers homeowner questions every weekend on WCCO 830 AM from 9:00 am-10:00 am.  Have your most pressing home improvement questions answered by calling 651-989-9226 or texting 81807.  Here’s the must-know information our Vice President of Sales, Alex Lindus, shared on 2.10.18.

Having been family owned and operated for nearly 40 years, one of our company’s biggest priorities is partnering with Midwestern companies that share our ideologies and commitment to quality.  Lindus Construction is proud to be a dealer of Infinity® from Marvin Windows, particularly since they’re made in Minnesota and designed for our extreme climate.  Like us, they’ve been family owned and operated since the very beginning.  They share our belief that employees are an extension of family and should be treated as such.  A unique quality Infinity® from Marvin Windows have is that the EverWood wood grain interior finish can be custom stained to match a home’s preexisting woodwork.  It imitates the aesthetics of wood, but foregoes the maintenance.

More and more frequently, homeowners that are faced with cedar deck replacement are opting for composite deck designs.  The composite brands we feel most confident recommending to our clients are TimberTech® and Zuri® because of their outstanding warranties, beauty, and longevity.

When it comes to home humidity levels, it can be a balancing act to keep your home at the optimum setting.  One of the questions posed on the show was if a home’s humidity levels were too high, whether or not it made sense to utilize a dehumidifier or air exchanger.  To answer this question, it’s important to notate the difference between the two.  A dehumidifier is designed to combat a home’s level of high humidity.  On the other hand, an air exchanger is designed to replace the home’s air.  Therefore, an air exchanger in itself will simply replace a home’s moist air with more moist air.  Premium systems can be purchased that have dehumidification capabilities, but can be cost prohibitive and more intrusive to install.  In the winter months, optimum humidity within a home ranges between 20%-30%.  Purchasing a humidistat can allow a homeowner to track humidity levels within their home.  Too high of humidity levels can result in frosty attics which can cause thousands of dollars in damage to a home.

Our Window Replacement Reviews:

"Doug met with us at our home and thoroughly examined and measured the windows in order to prepare a proposal.  Work was scheduled for three days, beginning January 31, based on our schedules. Jake, as lead worker, and his 3-man team arrived on time each day and were ready to start. They were polite, humorous, and professional while in our home."
