Calling a contractor for home renovations can be a daunting task, especially when multiple home improvements were needed. One of the most appealing aspects of working with Lindus Construction is that whether it’s roofing, siding, windows, gutters, or decking, our team of experts is able get the job done. In Lee and Deb’s case, all the aforementioned items needed attention on their home. We have approximately 150 employees and our installers work for a single department, allowing them to perfect their craft. Here’s how each team was able to completely transform Lee & Deb’s tired home into a completely new space.
Roofing: Standing in the driveway, it was evident that the home’s roof was on its last leg. Many shingles were missing granules and the overall look of the roof was one of distress. On a quest for this to be the last roof they ever installed on their home; the couple turned to us for advice on a product that would offer them complete peace of mind. Our solution? Timberline Ultra HD® Shingles by GAF in Barkwood. They’re accompanied with a 50-year, non-prorated warranty that covers both labor and materials. Should the couple ever choose to sell their home, the warranty transfers to the next homeowners. Another appealing aspect of these shingles is that they impregnated with StainGuard Plus™ Time-Release Technology that wards off unsightly algae growth. These features have led to them being awarded the Good Housekeeping Seal of approval.
Siding: The home’s siding had several areas where the finish had worn away. Not only did this detract from the home’s curb appeal, but it signaled that the siding was no longer a protective barrier from Mother Nature. To address these concerns, our team installed 5” seamless steel siding. Its extensive lifespan made it an attractive option for Lee and Deb’s home. The steel siding came with a woodgrain look which complemented other aspects of the home. The couple also appreciated the plethora of color choices and the fact that the steel siding is accompanied with a 35-year, non-prorated warranty that addresses chipping, cracking, and weathering.
Windows: When replacing a home’s siding, it’s wise to evaluate the quality of its windows to see if any need replacement. Replacing both at the same time offers a cost-effective approach because the caulking and sealing of siding joints and window openings and trim only needs to happen once. Many of Lee & Deb’s windows were several decades old. In addition, they were energy inefficient and drafty. SeasonGuard windows provided the optimum solution for several reasons. First, they are accompanied with industry-leading warranties that cover all moving parts. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another window brand that offers a warranty that covers glass breakage, an aspect they liked. In addition, these triple pane windows are manufactured with the Midwest climate in mind and offer superior energy efficiency and security. In all, eight windows and two patio doors were replaced.

Decking: Not only was the home’s wooden deck no longer a point of pride due to weathering, but it was not far from becoming a safety concern due to age. Rather than replace the deck with another wooden deck, the couple opted for a maintenance-free deck. Trex® composite decking in Tiki Torch with hidden fasteners and coated color matching screws were used. This approach offers a continuous look. Trex® wins high marks for the material’s close imitation of woodgrain patterns. Even more impressive is the fact that the material is comprised of 95% recycled materials. The manufacturer’s 25-year Limited Residential and Fade Stain warranties also proved reassuring. To round out the look, a Westbury aluminum railing with black fine texture was used.
Gutters: There were several reason’s the home’s preexisting gutters were insufficient. Not only did they leak in certain areas, but they were undersized and could easily overflow in heavy rains. In addition, there were areas of the home that lacked gutters, which had led to landscape erosion, dry rot, and discolored siding. LeafGuard® Brand Gutters proved to be the perfect solution. Their oversized design allowed them to be certified by the Good Housekeeping Institute to handle 32 inches of rain within an hour. The system is also seamless which prevents water intrusion that happens at gutter seams over time. The biggest perk of all? They’re guaranteed never to clog and if they ever do, our team will clean them free of charge.
